2026 FNCHI Mixed Junior Hockey Carnival

Far North Coast Hockey Inc. is looking forward to welcoming junior players from across the region to the 2026 FNCHI Mixed Junior Hockey Carnival, taking place on Sunday 26 July at the Goonellabah Hockey Centre.

This annual carnival brings together registered junior players from affiliated clubs and associations for a full day of enjoyable competition, teamwork and sportsmanship. Designed for players who are already participating in the 2026 hockey season, the carnival provides an opportunity to play against teams from across the Far North Coast, develop friendships and enjoy the exciting atmosphere of tournament hockey.

Mixed teams are invited to compete in the Under 12 and Under 14 age divisions. Teams will play a series of 20–25 minute round robin matches throughout the day, with finals to follow where applicable. Every effort will be made to ensure all teams enjoy multiple games in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.

Clubs are encouraged to nominate teams with a balanced mix of players, allowing everyone to enjoy competitive and rewarding matches regardless of experience or ability.

The day will commence at approximately 9:00am and conclude around 4:00pm, depending on team numbers and the competition schedule.

The canteen will be open throughout the day, offering a range of hot and cold food, snacks and drinks for players, coaches, officials and spectators. Families are encouraged to come along and enjoy a great day supporting junior hockey across the Northern Rivers.

Eligibility
Players must be registered with their club or association for the 2026 season and be eligible to compete in the nominated age group based on either:

• their age on 31 December 2026, or

• the age group in which they are registered to play during the 2026 season.

The nomination fee is $50 per team.
