Tournament Terms & Conditions
Feather Touch Badminton Tournament 2026
By registering for this tournament, participants (including parents/guardians for participants under 18 years of age) acknowledge and agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Registration & Eligibility

All participants must complete the official registration process before the closing date.

Registration is confirmed only after full payment has been received.

Participants must provide accurate personal and contact information during registration.

Organisers reserve the right to refuse or cancel registrations that do not meet event requirements.
2. Junior Participants (Under 13)
-
Participants under 13 years of age must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before registering.

By completing registration, the parent/guardian confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions on behalf of the junior participant.

Parents/guardians acknowledge that badminton is a physical sporting activity involving inherent risks of injury.
3. Tournament Format
-
Matches will be conducted in a 30-point single-elimination knockout format unless otherwise specified by the organisers.

Matches will be conducted in a single-elimination knockout format with one game played to 30 points. The first player or pair to reach 30 points will be declared the winner and progress to the next round, unless otherwise determined by the tournament organisers. At 29-all, the next point wins the match.

Organisers reserve the right to modify schedules, draws, match formats, or event categories where necessary due to operational requirements or participant numbers.

Decisions made by tournament officials and organisers will be final.
4. Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to:
-
demonstrate good sportsmanship and respectful behaviour,
-
follow instructions from organisers and venue staff,
-
respect opponents, officials, volunteers, and spectators,
-
avoid abusive, offensive, or disruptive behaviour.
Organisers reserve the right to remove any participant who breaches the code of conduct or negatively impacts the event environment.
5. Player Responsibility
Participants are responsible for:

Arriving at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled match time and reporting to the registration counter

Being present at the assigned court at least 5 minutes before the scheduled match start time
-
Bringing appropriate badminton attire and equipment
-
Ensuring they are medically fit to participate
-
Maintaining adequate hydration and personal wellbeing throughout the event
Failure to report on time may result in forfeiture of matches.
6. Injury & Medical Disclaimer

Participants compete at their own risk.

Feather Touch Sports Club, organisers, volunteers, venue providers, and affiliated parties will not be held responsible for any injury, accident, illness, loss, or damage arising from participation in the event.

Participants are encouraged to maintain appropriate personal health, accident, or sports insurance coverage.
7. Insurance
Feather Touch Sports Club is affiliated with Badminton Victoria. Participants are encouraged to refer to Badminton Victoria for information regarding affiliated insurance coverage and policies.
8. Photography & Media Consent

Event organisers may capture photographs and videos during the tournament for promotional, marketing, social media, and community purposes.

By participating in the event, participants and parents/guardians consent to the use of event photographs and recordings unless otherwise requested in writing prior to the event.
9. Refund Policy

All registrations are final.

Once registration payment has been made, no refunds will be issued. If a replacement player is found and approved by the organisers before 15 July 2026, the registration may be transferred or refunded at the organisers’ discretion. No refunds will be granted after this date or for withdrawals, no-shows, scheduling conflicts, injuries, or any other circumstances.

Participants are encouraged to confirm availability before registering.
10. Event Changes & Cancellation
- Organisers reserve the right to modify event schedules, categories, venue arrangements, or operational requirements if necessary.
- In unforeseen circumstances including venue issues, safety concerns, government restrictions, or insufficient participation numbers, the event may be postponed, modified, or cancelled. In such cases, registered participants will be provided with an appropriate refund as determined by the organisers.
11. Liability Waiver
By registering for the tournament, participants (and parents/guardians for junior participants) acknowledge and accept all risks associated with participation in sporting activities and release Feather Touch Sports Club, organisers, volunteers, sponsors, and venue providers from liability to the extent permitted by law.
12. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting registration and payment:

participants confirm they have read and understood these Terms & Conditions,
-
participants agree to comply with all tournament rules and organiser instructions,
-
parents/guardians of junior participants confirm consent and acceptance on behalf of the participant.
13. Age Eligibility for U13 Categories
Participants competing in Under 13 (U13) categories must not have turned 13 years of age before 2 August 2026.
Participants may be required to present valid photo identification for age verification purposes. Organisers reserve the right to disqualify participants unable to provide appropriate proof of age.
