The Presenter is Peter Roberts. Peter is a Gold Level Athletics Referee, and is on the Queensland Athletics Officials Advisory Group, with a portfolio of Officials Education.
Becoming an official helps volunteers to be confident in officiating at track and field events.
Once the course is completed you can then do some post course work and practical components at approved events and obtain a 'National Athletics Referee' or NAR' accreditation.
Timetable for the weekend
➡️ Saturday 8.30am to 4pm, morning tea will be provided. Please organise your own lunch.
➡️ Sunday 9am to 12pm, then 2pm to approx 4:30pm. There will be a two hour break for lunch and carnival set up, then course participants will be guided in practical officiating during the carnival.
A 30min debrief will occur at the end of the carnival.
In order to be able to fully participate in the program, you will need to bring a laptop/tablet and a notebook and pens, pencil, small ruler, eraser and clipboard. If you do not have a laptop we will work around that.
