All Members Bulletin June 2026

The excitment is buiding with just two months before we come together in France for the 5th IBCPC festival. This sold out event will bring together 4,500 breast cancer survivors and supporters from over 23 countries. DAA will host a final Teams meeting for all Member Groups attending the festival on Monday 3rd August. Committee members please keep an eye on your inbox for an invitation over the coming days.

Wow, wow and wow! What an amazing display of connection and strength we showed during our two days of competition at the recent AusChamps at Lake Kawana. It seemed every time I turned around there was a different shade of pink before me. With 12 BCP crews out on the course we certainly showed the depth of our competitive spirit. Off the course, it was just a constant stream of smiles and hugs. A special mention to those who stepped up to drum - thank you!

The Australian Masters Games (AMG) is a festival of sport that brings together athletes from around Australia to enjoy a sport and social program. The 20th Edition of the AMG will be held in Canberra, with the dragon boat competition running on the 18th, 19th and 20th September 2025. Please note that this is NOT a DAA run event - all payments and the regatta itself will be under the control of AMG. DAA will be facititating the registration of the teams.

Over 60 Dragons Abreast Australia paddlers joined together at the recent 2025 AusChamps to form three composite crews, competing at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith on the 26th and 27th April. Update on the WDBRC We were all were thrilled to hear that the IDBF announced the inclusion of a BCP category in the upcoming World Dragon Boat Racing Championships, to be held in Brandenburg, Germany in July 2025. Despite extensive efforts and hard lobbying by DAA with AusDBF in support of the inclusion of an Australian BCP team, we have been informed by AusDBF that after careful consideration they have decided not to submit a BCP squad for the event.
