Expression of Interest – Participant Acknowledgement & Waiver

By submitting my Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the 2027 Ice Dragon Boat International Festival, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Expression of Interest & Selection

I understand that submitting an EOI does not guarantee selection or participation in the event. Crew numbers are strictly limited to 12 participants, plus one Coach and one Team Manager. Final selection will be subject to the selection process and any eligibility requirements determined by the organising body.

2. Travel & Financial Responsibility

I acknowledge that festival participation costs and accommodation during the designated hosted period will be provided by the event hosts.

I understand that I am personally responsible for all international and domestic airfares, travel and transfers to and from Xilinhot, travel insurance, visa requirements (where applicable), personal expenses and any additional accommodation or travel arrangements outside the hosted period.

Any accompanying family members, friends or supporters will be responsible for their own expenses.

3. Acknowledgement of Risks

I understand that ice dragon boating is a winter sporting activity conducted in potentially extreme cold weather conditions and on frozen surfaces.

I acknowledge that participation may involve risks including slips, falls, collisions, physical injury, exposure to extreme cold, adverse weather conditions and other risks associated with international travel and sporting activities.

I agree to comply with all safety instructions, event regulations and directions provided by event organisers, officials and team management.

4. Health, Fitness & Insurance

I acknowledge that I am responsible for ensuring I am physically capable of participating in the event and for obtaining appropriate medical advice where necessary.

If selected, I agree to arrange suitable travel insurance that specifically covers participation in ice dragon boating and any associated competitive sporting activities, including overseas medical treatment and emergency evacuation.

I understand that insurance coverage must be confirmed with my insurer and must not be assumed.

5. Changes or Cancellation

I acknowledge that event arrangements, travel requirements, accommodation and participation conditions may be subject to change.

I understand that the organising body cannot guarantee the event will proceed as planned and that I remain responsible for any personal financial commitments made prior to confirmation of my selection.

6. Participant Declaration

By submitting this EOI, I confirm that:

• I have read and understood the information provided.

• I acknowledge the risks associated with participating in this event.

• I understand my financial and travel responsibilities.

• I agree to comply with all event safety requirements and team management directions.

• I understand that submitting an EOI does not guarantee selection.
