Dragon Boating is a sport for all ages from 12 and up (our oldest member is 86!) all fitness levels and any shape or size.
It is a dynamic and exciting sport with many opportunities to compete at State and National levels. It is also perfect for those just wanting to get out on the water and have a social paddle. It increases fitness and is a team sport – a great way to meet a diverse group of people. As with any sport it promotes mental and physical wellbeing.
The Dragon Boat community is a great atmosphere to meet new people and if travelling in Australia and overseas you will always find a club that will welcome you to come and paddle with them.

Vogalonga 2026
Cairns Dragon Boat Club is excited to be attending the 50th Vogalonga in 2026. It is the legendary non-competitive event held in Venice on 24 May 2026.
The course is about 32 kms, winding through the Venetian Lagoon and past islands like Murano, Burano, Sant’Erasmo, and returning via the Grand Canal.
