Solos & Duos

What Solos & Duos Are

At Brindabella Calisthenics College, members can choose to perform individual or paired routines at competitions to further develop their skills.

Participants receive one-on-one coaching to prepare routines for competitions held in Canberra during March, April, and May each year.

Types of Events

There are three types of solo events:

  1. Calisthenic Solo

  2. Graceful Calisthenic Solo

  3. Calisthenic Duo (performed with a partner)

Who Can Participate

  • Must be a performing club member

  • At least 12 months of calisthenics experience is recommended

Benefits

Solos and duos help participants:

  • Improve performance skills

  • Develop individual talent

  • Build confidence and self-esteem

Important Things to Know

  • Calisthenics is mainly a team sport, so solos/duos are optional extra challenges.

  • Participants must attend additional training sessions and learn extra routines.

  • There are extra costs, including:

    • Coaching fees

    • Hall hire

    • These are in addition to normal club fees.

Coaching

  • Your solo coach may be different from your team coach.

  • Each participant must contact and organise a coach themselves.

  • It’s best to arrange a coach early in the year for the following competition season, as coaches become harder to find later in the year.

Competitions

There are three solo competitions held each year in the ACT.
