About

Welcome to Brindabella Calisthenics College

Brindabella Calisthenics College is a community-based calisthenics club located in the Tuggeranong District. Established in 1996 and commencing operation in 1997, the College provides opportunities for participants of all ages to develop their skills in a supportive team environment.

Our club is administered by an incorporated committee made up of dedicated parents and coaches who work together to support the development of our members and the ongoing success of the College.

What is Calisthenics?

Calisthenics is a uniquely Australian artistic sport that combines elements of:

  • Dance

  • Gymnastics

  • Singing

  • Acting

  • Marching

  • Ballet

  • Apparatus technique

  • Performance skills

Participants learn choreographed routines performed to music as part of a team, combining athletic skill with artistic expression.

As both a sport and performing art, calisthenics develops:

  • Coordination and balance

  • Strength and flexibility

  • Posture and mobility

  • Rhythm and musical appreciation

  • Confidence and stage presence

Being part of a calisthenics team encourages self-discipline, teamwork, commitment and lasting friendships, while promoting both a healthy body and a healthy mind.

We offer classes for a full range of age groups:

The Calisthenics Year

Our season runs in line with the school calendar.

Each year, teams participate in three local competitions, usually held on weekends in:

These competitions give participants the opportunity to perform the routines they have worked on during the season.
