Welcome to the 2025 Mid West Met Zone (MWMZ)Championhips to be held at Makepeace Oval, Fairfield on November 28-30, 2025.

Nominations for MWMZ Championships will be done digitally in RevSport using the link provided in this event and the cost of the Championships is $10 per athlete that must be paid at registration.

Zone Championships are a stand alone event for the 7s age group and a pathway event for the 8s to 15s age groups to qualify for the 2026 Region 7 Championhsips to be held in February, 2026 at Narellan. Members in the 9s to 15s age groups who qualify for the Region 7 Championships will then have an oppofrtunity to qualify for the 2026 State Championships.

For the 16s to U20 age groups the Zone Championships are a stand alone event and those who wish to compete at the Region 7 Championships or at the State Championships are required to nominate again for those events in 2026.

The NSW Athletics Championships series allows athletes to only compete for one club throughout their qualification, therefore any member in the 13s to U20 age groups who are multi-club members must choose the club they want to represent before nominating for Zone Championships. Once you have competed in a Zone Championships with Bankstown you must then continue to compete with Bankstown through Region Championships and State Championships. No memeber is permitted to compete for more than one club or in more than one Zone or Region Championships.

    • Top 4 placings in each event for boys and girls automatically qualify.
    • The next best 4 times or distances across the 3 Zones in Region 7 will also qualify for the Region 7 Championships.
  • The 16s to U20 age groups have no pathways as all Championships are direct entry, however members in the age groups are encouraged to nominate and compete at MWMZ Championships to represent Bankstown and have some competition practice.

The MWMZ Championships event guide with the events available for each age group and the day of competition is attached. Please review this before nominating to ensure you are available to compete on the day that each event is held. In particular, for the 7s to 11s age groups for which qualification is required. It would be disappointing if a member misses out on qualifying for an event as another member nominates and then is unable to compete in the MWMZ Championships due to unavailability on that day.
