Waite Touch Football

The Adelaide University Touch Club has a proud history out at Waite Oval. Since the nascent years of the club, the Waite Summer Touch Competition has been a favourite amongst the community. The competition is run over the summer months out at Waite Oval, next to the University of Adelaide Waite Campus in Urrbrae. AUTC also run bar facilities and a community BBQ throughout the season.

Over the years, the competition has seen steady growth and vibrant involvement from the community. In particular, the competition is popular for its family-friendly atmosphere on some of the best touch fields in the state. 2023-24 Waite Summer Competition

Where: Waite Oval, Cnr Fullarton Rd & Claremont Ave

When: Thursday Nights (6:30, 7:20, 8:10pm)

Rounds: 26/10/23 - 14/12/23 (1-8) | 11/01/24 - 15/02/24 (9-14) | 22/02 - SF | 29/02 - GF

Cost: $750 for a Senior Team | $450 for a Junior Team | $50 for an Individual Registration

What: Mixed 6-aside Touch Football with 8th Edition Rules, 40 minute games (2 x 20 minute halves)

The competition is held on Thursday nights from 6:20pm (approx.) onwards. The competition utilises the 7 (approx.) fields available with roughly 30-35 teams across several grades (A-E). The competition caters for both elite-level touch players, as well as beginner players who have yet to master their skills.

The competition is run as a mixed 6-aside competition (3 guys, 3 girls minimum) for all different skill levels. The matches are 40 minutes long (2 x 20 minute halves). The competition generally starts on the last Thursday of October and runs through to the last week of February, with two weeks of finals afterward. The competition consists of 14-round games and 2 finals games. It is typically split as 8 games, a Christmas Break, 6 games, 2 finals

Registration

If you wish to register, there are two available options.

1. Team Registration

A group of individuals can register as a team. For a mixed team, AUTC encourages 12-14 players with no more than 20 registered players.

To register a team, a Deposit of $300 will be required upon confirmation of registration, with the remainder of the team fee required by the end of Round 6 (unless otherwise stated by AUTC)

Once the registration has been confirmed and ratified by the Waite Management Team, nominated team contacts will be emailed with further updates.

2. Individual Registration

Individuals without a team may register with the university by signing up on the 'Events' page. Upon registration, they will be placed in a university team to play for the summer.

**Please note, to play with the university, the individual will need to purchase an AUTC membership ($10), an AUSF membership ($93.50 for General Public), a Waite Competition Registration ($50), and a TFA + TFSA Membership Registration ($42)**
