Metro Competitions

AUTC registers teams in a number of different competitions in the Metropolitan Adelaide area, as outlined below.

City Touch Autumn Super Series (Mixed)

This 5-aside competition is run in the lead-up to winter out at the City Touch fields (Tuthangga). The mixed competition is held in March for approximately 6-8 weeks, with 2 x 20-minute games per week. The competition is run on Thursday evenings from 6 pm (approx.) using the 8th Edition Rules. A mens competition is run on Tuesday nights. The difference with Autumn is that when a try is scored, the teams swap sides (aka touchdown-turnaround). The competition caters for both skilled and beginner players, helping everyone ease into the competition.

City Touch Winter Series (Mixed & Single-Sex)

This 6-aside competition is run from May to September at the City Touch fields (Tuthangga). The mixed competition is held on Thursday nights from 6 pm onwards (approx.) and the single-sex competition is held on Monday nights from 6 pm onwards. Games are 40 minutes (2 x 20-minute halves) long and use the 8th Edition Rules. Each competition has different grades to cater to all skill levels, and AUTC typically enters multiple teams to assist our players in finding what grade best suits them. As with other winter sports, we strongly encourage our players to wear a good pair of football boots to minimize any risk of injury. In the lead-up to the competition, AUTC will offer options for players to purchase a playing top for use, as well as registration options to join an AUTC team.

Botanics Summer Touch (Mixed)

Whilst the primary focus of AUTC will be running and encouraging our members to join the Waite Summer Competition, the club acknowledges that some of our members may be unable to participate in touch games on a Thursday night. Interest-permitting, the club will assist our members in getting a team registered for the Botanics Summer competition that is run on a Monday night during summer (October to March) from 6 pm (approx.) onwards at Campbelltown Memorial Oval. The games are 40 minutes long and it is a 6-aside competition.

YourPod Cup Touch Competition (Mixed & Single-Sex)

In previous years, the Mount Gambier Touch Football Association organises the YourPod Cup in January. The competition consists of a round-robin tournament where each team plays each other in 40-minute, six-aside matches at the Mt. Gambier Sports Complex. AUTC has successfully sent mixed teams to compete in previous years, assisting participants in finding accommodation and transport. The competition attracts some of the best talent from South Australia and Victoria, with cash prizes to be won by the competition winners. The competition is also a great way to support local businesses and promote the AUTC brand within the local community.

AUTC Beach Touch (Mixed)

Interest pending, AUTC hosts and organises a Beach Touch event during the summer months. Held as a one-off event on a Saturday or Sunday on one of the metropolitan beaches in Adelaide. The event is a great way to showcase the sport to locals and for teams to show off their beach touch skills. Played in a similar style to the Beach Touch Rules listed below, the round-robin tournament allows all matter of teams to show off in style. There are also cash prizes to be won for the best dressed and the winning team, and a great day at the beach to be had by all.
