Whether you’re picking up a racket for the first time or already playing at a strong level, the Adelaide University Tennis Club (AUTC) offers a welcoming tennis community with membership options suited to different commitments and playing goals. From structured social sessions to clear competition pathways, AUTC supports members who want to play regularly, improve, and be part of a connected club environment.
New to the club? You’re invited to attend one free trial session at the start of each semester.
This is a simple way to meet members, understand how sessions operate, and see if the club is the right fit before joining.
Don’t have a racket? Rackets are available for hire at $5 per person (subject to availability).
We value consistent participation and positive club culture. Attendance is tracked, and at the end of each semester, members with strong attendance and contribution may be recognised through prizes, shout-outs, and club acknowledgements.
AUTC operates year-round, with programming that shifts between summer and winter to make best use of available courts and seasonal conditions. Session days and times are confirmed each semester based on the majority availability of students.
AUTC operates across both lawn and hard courts to maximise access and variety in playing conditions.
Primary venues: Park 10 (lawn) and Adelaide High School hard courts (hard)
Social tennis: Two sessions per week (2 hours per session)
Summer provides strong opportunities for regular play, skill development, and club competition activity.
During winter, the club operates primarily on hard courts, supporting consistent sessions through the cooler months.
Primary venue: Adelaide High School hard courts
Social tennis: One extended session per week (3 hours)
Hard courts provide reliable matchplay conditions and support both social and competition-focused training.
The club also has access to courts at the Mawson Lakes campus, supporting additional playing opportunities as scheduling allows.
We value members who participate consistently and contribute to the club community. Each semester, AUTC may recognise members through:
prizes
shout-outs
invitations to club events and internal tournaments (where available)
We also run club-only tournaments during the semester, with opportunities for members and enrolled Adelaide University students to participate (subject to scheduling and court availability).
