About Us
AUKC – One Club, Two Schools
The Adelaide University Karate Club (AUKC) teaches traditional Goju Ryu Karate through two respected schools: Seishikan and IKGA.
Our head instructors from both schools have over 30 years of teaching experience, bringing deep knowledge, practical skill, and a strong commitment to student development.
What is Goju Ryu?
“Go” means hard.
“Ju” means soft.
Goju Ryu Karate emphasises balance — hard and soft, fast and slow, strong and relaxed. Students learn how to move with power and control, using efficient technique rather than brute strength.
