Testimonials:
From Junior Coach Abbie Allen
"I started coaching at Woodside when my daughter’s under 9 team was desperate for a coach I had no real coaching experience, but wanted to make sure the kids had the opportunity to not only play, but to learn and grow and hopefully fall in love with netball. What I was not prepared for was how rewarding it is as a coach to work on skills at training and then one day seeing it all click on the court. The kids are so excited and you go from a rag tag group (especially in under 9’s) to a cohesive netball team by the end of the season I’ve gone on to coach both summer and winter netball for three years, and when people ask me if I’m going to coach again I always say ‘Yes! I really love it.’ So, if you’re not sure if it’s for you, but have an inkling of desire to give it a go, even if it’s just make sure the kids can get in the court, then I strongly encourage you to put in your application. The Woodside Warriors provide a huge amount of support and are always there when you need them. Plus, you get to become an integral part of the club community. If you have any questions, please let me know."
From Junior coach, Nina Lawson
"Netball really is contagious! Coaching is such a rewarding experience. I love seeing a team grow, bond, and support each other, helping quieter players come out of their shells, and watching everyone gain confidence on the court. It’s not just about winning, it’s about building skills, teamwork, and a love for the game. I’ve also learned so much myself; understanding, leadership, and how to bring out the best in each player. Last season, taking my Under 11 team to the grand final and winning was a real highlight, and I can’t wait for more growth, fun, and smiles in many seasons ahead."
