Code of Conduct

I agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct

  • To participate within the rules as adopted by Gridiron Australia along with the Affiliated Member States and the NCAA.
  • To never argue with an Official either on the field or on the sidelines. In the event of a disagreement, I will seek to have my captain or coach approach the official during a break or after the completion of the match.
  • I will seek to control my temper. I acknowledge that the verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent will not be tolerated.
  • I will seek to show good sportsmanship.
  • I will treat all my fellow participants as I would like to be treated. I will not bully or take unsportsmanlike advantage of another competitor.
  • I will cooperate with my coach, team mates, opponents, player officials, Gridiron Australia Administrators and Affiliated Member States' Administrators.
  • I agree to respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, sexual preference, ability, cultural background or religion.
  • I will do nothing willingly that will bring the game into disrepute.
  • I will not deliberately seek to injure, maim or inflict permanent damage to an opponent.
  • I understand that any misuse of equipment on my part (including the throwing of a helmet regardless of intent or direction) may result in being ejected or suspended from the game.
  • I will not knowingly use performing enhancing drugs as defined by the Australian Sports Commission's Drug Policy.
  • I agree to abide by the principle that my actions shall in no way impact improperly on the integrity and outcome of a Gridiron match and I shall not be involved in illegal or fraudulent betting on Gridiron Games.
  • I agree to abide any relevant policies or codes of conduct as issued by my state organisation and GA. I confirm these documents are available to me upon request.

I acknowledge that my registration may be revoked if I fail to uphold the Code of Conduct.

Gridiron West, WA Raiders & Gridiron West Member Clubs, Terms of Registration - Financial Commitments

I agree to abide by the following:

  1. I understand that by registering as a member of Gridiron West, either direct or through a Gridiron West Meber Club, I am also making a financial commitment to pay all fees and charges required as may be disclosed or required by me from time to time.
  2. I understand that full or part payment of my fees does not entitle me to any fixed or minimum amount of game time, and that I will not seek a refund or offset of fees on the basis of game time or non-participation due to any other effect or cause.
  3. I understand that by not remaining financial at any stage, I will jeopardise my eligibility to play in any current or future Gridiron West or Gridiron Australia sanctioned event.
  4. I understand that any failure to fulfil my financial commitments to Gridiron West or its Member Clubs, resulting from any unpaid accounts are due and payable upon demand by Gridiron West or its Member Club, and that I will remain liable for any debts or unpaid balances beyond the current season I am registering, until the outstanding amount is paid in full.
  5. I understand that no arrangements or financial understandings with regards to my financial obligations to Gridiron West or its Member Clubs will be binding, unless expressly agreed upon in writing by the body to which the monies are owed.

West Coast Wolverines Terms of Registration

In consideration of the West Coast wolverines agreeing to accept and register you as a participant, you (or if the participant is under 18 years of age, that participant’s parent or legal guardian on behalf of the participant):

(i) undertake to be bound by the IFAF Laws of the Game and Regulations (www.ifaf.org), GW Code of Conduct By-Law, and Policies (including GW Anti-Doping Code and Member Protection Policy);

(ii) warrant that you have fully disclosed any suspension you may be serving imposed by any sporting body, and will disclose any suspension imposed in the future;

(iii) undertake to pay all fees;

(iv) West Coast Wolverines may use your name or image in any form or medium for marketing, promotional and research activities;

(v) acknowledge that GW may de-register you at any time by notice;

(vi) acknowledge that the Game is a hazardous sport and that incidents may happen, and to the extent permitted by law, you waive all claims for liability against any participant and release every participant from all liability, provided that such liability arises while you are participating in any gridiron activity.

You agree that GW will hold the benefit of this release and waiver on trust for all participants. GW makes no warranties regarding services associated with the Game or the fitness for purpose of materials provided.

For the purpose of this document: the “Game" means the game of Gridiron/American Football; "participants" mean GA and any gridiron club or referees' association in Western Australia and any member, officer, official, administrator, coach, manager, selector, match official, physiotherapist, trainer, ball person or unqualified first aid officer associated with such body; “liability” means liability in tort or contract for any death, personal injury or damage to property including vicarious liability for assault but excluding other liability for assault; "gridiron activity" means playing the Game or engaging in training for the Game or other activities directed or recommended by a participant. Anti-Doping: GA and GW condemns the use of performance enhancing substances in Gridiron as both dangerous to health and contrary to the ethics of sport, and prohibits the taking or use of drugs. You agree to observe and comply with GA's Anti-Doping Code. A copy of GA's Anti-Doping Code is available at www.gridironaustralia.org and on request from GA/GW.

Privacy Statement: GW respects the privacy of individuals that participate in the Game. GW is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and has a Privacy Policy that safeguards your privacy. The personal information collected on this form is used and disclosed for the purposes specified in the Privacy Policy, including being used by your Club to administer the Game and provide gridiron activities and gridiron-related services.
