Welcome to WindWanderers in North Queensland! 

There is nothing like skimming over the blue waters of Airlie Bay, catching a gust and looking back at the surrounding green hills of Conway National Park.  Truly the best view of the area is from the water!    

We are based in Airlie Beach, sailing from the Lagoon Beach, Beacons Beach, Shute Harbour and Shingley Beach depending on the weather.  We also sail in Mackay, Bowen, Proserpine Dam and Alva Beach.  We welcome all windsurfers, wing foilers and windfoilers to join us.  

Made up of families and individuals with a passion for board sailing, come along to enjoy social sailing activities with an emphasis on social connection, youth development and making sure mums and women also get on the water.

Meet our core members here in NQ:

Dennis - brings years of experience to our group as coach and instructor, he is a multiple national champion in Windsurfer class, world champion in Kona class and Windsurfer class, Formula 42 nationals winner, raced Olympic board classes, sails raceboards, slalom, wave sailing.... the list goes on!  Dennis is an all round friendly guy who is only too happy to pass on his knowledge and expertise, and a real asset to our regional windsurfing community.

Johanna - As NQ rep for WindWanderers, she brings her years of experience as a sailing instructor specialising in teaching children and passion for getting women and youth on the water to our group.  Johanna sails Windsurfer LTs, mostly recreationally, but is fast learning the ropes of racing.
