The WGHS P&C Hockey Club welcomes existing, returning and new players.
In Terms 1 & 4 the club enters teams in Indoor 6-a-side and subject to interest in Social Outdoor 5-a-side competitions.
In Terms 2 & 3 Indoor Hockey breaks for winter.
WGHS Hockey Club is happy to support players wishing to pursue opportunities to play field hockey either socially or in competitons subject to interest.
The aim of the club is to encourage girls to play team sport for fun & fitnes with a focus on friendship and personal development.
We welcome beginners and experienced players alike with older players often mentoring the younger students.
Players are welcome to join any or all competitions.
We field teams of mixed years and ability so players have the opportunity to build relationships across years and mentor others as they gain experience.
We also socialise together with end of season get togethers.
Indoor 6-a-side Hockey - Terms 1 & 4
In Term 1 2026 training is currently held at Willoughby Leisure Centre on Monday mornings at 7.15 -8.15am. This may change for Term 4 2026. Please contact the club for more details.
Matches are held on Wednesday evenings at Ryde, Mosman, Eastern Suburb locations and for the first time this year at WGHS.
We field teams in both the U15 and U18 age groups for girls in Year 7 and above.
For Year 7 and new players in 2026 Term 1 we will be running our highly succesful Get to Know Hockey program over 7 weeks from the begining of term. The program includes 7 training sessions and an afternoon workshop on a Saturday mid way through the 7 sessions at Marie Bashir Mosman.
Outdoor Social 5-a-side Hockey - Terms 1 & 4
Games are held subject to availability on Thursday evenings at Middle Cove. This is run outside of WGHS.
There is a mixed social/family competition that runs from 5 - 7pm.
There will be some training for new players or those who wish to brush up on their skills at the start of the session.
Parents, siblings and friends are all welcome.
High School Field Hockey Terms 2 & 3
Subject to interest there is the option to register for a Field Hockey competition with students from local high schools including WGHS, NSGHS and Marist North Sydney. This is run outside of WGHS.
The competition usually runs Tuesday's and Wednesday afternoons after school.
