Give Hockey A Go!
New to hockey? Give Hockey a Go! Saturday sessions are designed for players who are brand new to the game and want to sample hockey before committing.
These free sessions offer a fun, inclusive and pressure-free introduction to hockey, giving players the chance to learn basic skills, build confidence and see if the sport is right for them — all while making new friends. No prior experience is required.
The program is intentionally short and flexible. Players are encouraged to attend 1 or 2 sessions to get a feel for the game, before committing to a full term. Our experienced junior coaches focus on core skills, simple gameplay and enjoyment, while creating a welcoming environment for new players and families.
We will lend you a stick for the session, and shinpads if you don't have them. Please wear long socks (hockey/soccer style) and comfortable clothes. Players will require a mouthguard if they wish to play in a game setting.
After attending your sessions, players who enjoy hockey will be supported to join a local team in their local club where they can continue developing their skills and transition into team-based training and competition when ready.
Hockey is an inclusive sport played by boys and girls, men and women of all abilities, with pathways for social and competitive play!
Give Hockey a Go! for free — then take the next step when you're ready.
