G'day Athletes! 

We are only one more sleep away until the 2026 edition Hobie Wave Grand Prix Championships! The forecast is looking mint, with nor'easters both days, which means racing will be just off the beach! The start box will be tight, launching will be critical, and you'll be on a different boat every race! There is so much to look forward to!

For any friends and family that won't be in attendance, the team at Totally Immersed TV is planning to live stream WaveGP on Youtube, a very first for the Australian Hobie Class! Subscribe now and turn notifications on so you all can be kept in the loop!

Practice sailing is available to anyone on Friday evening. Please get in contact with Paddy with you are planning on getting on the water for a practice session on Friday evening. 

VSC Canteen & Raffle

• Breakfast & lunch will be available at the VSC, with B&E Rolls and a sausage sizzle running all day long, both Saturday and Sunday. 
• Raffle tickets can be purchases at the clubhouse all day, and will include a complimentary beverage (collectable thorughout the day). The raffle will be drawn at 7pm on Saturday evening at the Jervis Bay Brewing Co. Prizes include:
  
  • meat trays, recycled dacron tote bags, towels, artwork, hats, ToyWorld vouchers & more. 

Don't forget to read the Sailing Instructions in detail before arriving. Subject to adjustment, any changes to the SI's will be sent via email or on the NSWHCA Exclusive Member's chat.

  • Each Athlete/Team will recieve a small, laminated copy of the race schedule with their names highlighted, that will fit in the pocket of your PFD.

MINIMUM WEIGHT

• As per the IHCA Rules, the minimum crew weight for the Wave Class is 54.43 kg. All Athletes/Teams will be weighed once at registration. 

BOAT DEPOSITS

• A refundable boat deposit of AUD $100 will be required on site by every team. Damage deposits must be paid in cash in AUD $100 prior to competing on Saturday 6th September. Any damage deposit unused at the end of the event will be returned to the competitor.

MEMBERSHIP

• All competitors must be a member of sailing club as per Australian Sailing requirements. To compete in a Championship level event, and to be included on the NSW Traveller Series, all helms must be financial members of a State Hobie Cat Association.
