The Sydney University Volleyball Club (USYD VC) is one of Australia’s largest and most respected volleyball organisations, bringing together a vibrant community of players, coaches, volunteers and supporters united by a shared passion for the sport.

Founded in the early 1960s,with volleyball at the University of Sydney dating back to the late 1950s, the club has evolved from a small university team into a nationally competitive and future-focused organisation. Operating as a not-for-profit sports club under Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness, USYD VC is proudly led by student-athletes and volunteers who are deeply motivated by the love of volleyball and intensely committed to high standards both on and off the court.

We provide equal opportunities for adults and juniors across all skill levels, from grassroots participation through to high-performance pathways. Our programs are designed to foster inclusion, diversity, leadership and wellbeing, creating environments where individuals and teams can thrive. Whether a beginner learning the fundamentals or an elite athlete competing at state and national level, every member is supported to develop at a pace and standard suited to their ambitions.

Today, USYD VC engages a broad and dynamic community, including over 500 competitive athletes annually and more than 5,000 student members each year. Our digital presence extends to over 6,500 followers across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, with strong engagement from students, alumni and the wider volleyball network.

Students, young professionals and emerging leaders who value performance, community and authenticity engage meaning fully through consistent competition, events, and university integration, USYD VC delivers reach and sustained connection while maintaining the culture and integrity that have defined the club for over half a century.
