Dear Club Executives and Members
We would like to provide you with an update on the progress of ongoing site works at the Hockey facility. All COCH
(City of Coffs Harbour) requirements have been fully met, and all associated works have now been reviewed and officially approved.
The commencement of works on the haul road has been delayed due to recent adverse weather conditions and needs a break in the weather to commence. However, construction is expected to begin within the next few weeks, and a local contractor is undertaking the project. Temporary fencing has been installed around the designated construction zones, water tanks are scheduled to be removed in the coming weeks.
In addition, all excavated materials from the project will be repurposed for use in other ongoing developments in the area. This approach not only avoids the need for landfill disposal but also supports our commitment to sustainability while delivering significant cost savings. Weather permitting, we anticipate that all works will soon progress at full pace.
In addition to the above, we are pleased to inform you that refurbishment of the turf is also scheduled as part of the facility upgrades. This will involve surface preparation, leveling, and re-turfing to ensure optimal playing conditions. These improvements aim to enhance the quality and safety of the grounds for all users.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as Polytan undertakes these essential improvements.
Kind regards, Gaye Wallace
President, Hockey Coffs Coast
