2026 TIODA Tasmanian Optimist State Championship and Green Fleet Regatta is being held on Februay 28 & March 1, 2026.
This years event will be hosted at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania in conjunction with Tasmanian International Optimist Dinghy Association (TIODA).
This two-day event is open to all Optimist sailors from around Tasmania and interstate. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
The regatta is open to boats of the Optimist class that fulfil the eligibility requirements stated below:
The Championship is open to competitors who are either one of the following:
(a) A financial member of an Australian State Optimist Association affiliated with AIODA, such as TIODA;
(b) A financial member of a National Optimist Association affiliated with IODA; or
(c) A financial member of a Member National Authority (MNA e.g. Australian Sailing)
3.1.2 Competitors shall have been born in 2011 or later.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter online no later than 22:00 on Thursday February 26 2026.
3.3 Late entries may be accepted by contacting TIODA on tioda.president@gmail.com or at registration. A late entry fee of $30 will be payable.
FLEET RACING CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
The Championship will consist of the Open and Intermediate Fleets and a Green Fleet Regatta.
The series for the Open and Intermediate Fleets will consist of up to 8 races. The Race Committee may conduct multiple racing sessions per day with no more than three races sailed back to back.
The Green Fleet Regatta may consist of up to 10 races. The Race Committee may conduct multiple racing sessions per day.

FEES
Required registration fees are as follows:
Class Fee
Open & Intermediate Fleets $100.00 AUD
Green Fleet $75.00 AUD
Late Entry (all fleets) $30.00 AUD
PRIZES
Prizes for the State Championship will be awarded at least to:
(a) 1st placed Tasmanian sailor in Open Fleet (Tasmanian State Champion)
(b) 1st to 3rd placed sailors regardless of gender, State or Country of residence in both Open
and Intermediate Fleets
(c) 1st to 3rd placed Tasmanian female sailors in Open Fleets
(d) 1st to 3rd places Tasmanian male sailors in Open Fleets
Green Fleet participation medals will be awarded as follows:
(a) Gold to the first third of the fleet
(b) Silver to the second third of the fleet; and
(c) Bronze to the balance of the fleet
