About

Tamworth Hockey provides a safe and family orientated sport for people of all ages.

Our competitions start at pre-school level with Tadpoles, 6 to 9 years of age with Minkey, U11 girls, open primary girls, U11, U13 and U15 Boys, Open Secondary boys and girls.

We also have four grades of womens hockey to enable people of all levels to enjoy the sport.

Men's Hockey has three grades plus a Masters competition for the over 35's who want to play more of a social level of hockey, although still competitive.

Tamworth Hockey has around 1200 members, being one of the largest sports in Tamworth.  Our facilities are international quality, as are many of our players.

Tamworth has had four Olympic Representatives in Matthew Smith, Michael York, Kim Small and Kate Jenner.

Local players including Kate Jenner, Matthew Willis and Georgina Morgan have risen through the representative ranks to achieve appointments with the Hockeyroos & Kookaburras. Local players Isaac Farmillo, Sam Lisles and Alice Arnott have also been recognised at national junior level.

The opportunities to play at representative level by participating at Tamworth Hockey are immense.  We boast many NSW level coaches and with only 4.5% of the registered hockey players in NSW, we represent some 23% of all NSW State Representative teams.

Our junior representative teams compete at the highest level and are on par with Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.  This is primarily due to our approach towards developing players of all levels, our high performance coaches and our international quality facilities.
