EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST | Sydney to Hobart Opportunity

We’ve been offered a very special opportunity for the Saltwater Veterans community — a couple of spots to take part in this year’s Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race aboard Wind Shift.

The retail cost for this experience is $13,995, but the veteran contribution is only $1,000 (excluding flights), which includes:

• The full Sydney to Hobart race

• Mandatory training weekend: 12–14 December

Supplemental Information – External Provider Acknowledgement

This activity is delivered by an external provider, not by Saltwater Veterans Sailing Project (SVSP).
SVSP’s role is limited to facilitating a connection between participants and the activity provider.
By expressing interest, you acknowledge that:

• You are engaging directly with the external provider.

• All operational responsibility, safety management, and delivery of the activity lies with that provider.

• Any risks associated with the activity are governed by the provider’s safety procedures, policies, and instructions.

• SVSP does not control or oversee the conduct of the activity.

IMPORTANT – Informed Consent to Participate

Before submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI), please take time to consider whether this experience is right for you.

The Sydney to Hobart is a demanding, multi-day open-ocean race. Conditions can range from calm to extremely severe. You may experience:

• Significant seasickness

• Fatigue from long watches

• Exposure to heavy weather, including rough sea states, cold conditions, and Bass Strait storms

• Physical and mental stress associated with extended offshore sailing

Participation requires a realistic assessment of your physical health, mental readiness, and any injuries or conditions that may be impacted by these stresses.

By submitting an EOI, you acknowledge that you understand these demands, that your participation is directly with an external provider, and that you can provide informed consent to take part should you be selected.
