About

Welcome to St Ives Softball

St Ives Softball is part of North Shore District Softball Association. NSDSA runs Sydney's biggest winter competition which runs from April to September with games for juniors played in the morning and seniors in the afternoon. All games are played at the one venue at William Cowan Oval/St Ives Village Green.

Looking to play?  Here is a brief description of the grades we have in our comp.  Ages for the juniors are only a guide.  Please speak to Cheryl Day if you are unsure what grade to register for.  St Ives Softball accepts the Active Kids Vouchers.

Teeball/ Batter Up - ages 4 to 9, girls and boys

Introduction to ball skills.  Hitting, catching, batting & running around bases.   Players play with age appropriate, modified softball rules, hitting off a tee, wearing protective uniform (helmets, mouthguards, gloves).

Modball - ages 9 to 12, girls and boys

This is the next step up from teeball.  Here the players are introduced to a live pitched ball, playing to only slightly modified softball rules.

Softball - Juniors aged 12 to 17, girls

This is where the girls play Softball Australia softball rules.

Games for junior softballers are played in the morning, however there is the opportunity for the older girls (16 - 18) to play in the afternoon comp.

Afternoon Ladies Competition - ages 16 and over (the most experienced ladies in the league are enjoying their 8th decade)

The afternoon competition has multiple grades, appropriate for all abilities.

From A grade (being most competitve) to friendly C grade, there will be a team where you will feel most welcomed.  Bring a friend or two!!
