About

Speed Zone is an Inline Speed Skating club located in South East Queensland. The club was founded in 2003 and was incoroporated on the 8th December the same year. Since that time, a number of state, national and international champions have called Speedzone home.

Speedzone's home base is the sport specific 500m speed skating track which is located within the Brisbane International Cycle Park1238 Wynnum Rd, Brisbane Queensland 4172. Life member, Win Hughes, was instrumental in the design of the track and worked tirelessly to bring the dream of a dedicated track to reality.

Over time the club has evolved and in 2026 we find ourselves primarily catering for older athletes who compete in the master categories. However, our weekly training sessions are open and we encourage anyone wanting to become involved in the sport of speed skating to join us, regardless of age or skill level. If you have been thinking of reigniting your skating journey or you want to try speed skating in a safe and supportive environment, consider joining us on Saturdays between 3 and 5 pm.
