Rules Assessment(s)

Softball Australia 2026 Rules Assessments will open from 12:01am Saturday 21 March 2026 and close 11:59pm Sunday 29 March 2026.  Further details and links will follow once the release goes live.

Level 0–1 Umpires, may complete the Basic Rules Assessment to:

  • maintain their current accreditation, or
  • be considered for progression to Level 2.
Level 0–1 umpires are also welcome to attempt the Open Rules Assessment if they wish to challenge their rules knowledge. If the required pass mark is not achieved, they may complete the Basic Rules Assessment instead for accreditation purposes.
 
Level 2 Umpires:
  • who do not wish to progress may complete the Basic Rules Assessment to maintain their accreditation (every second year).
  • who wish to progress to the next level must complete the Open Rules Assessment.
Level 3 Umpires and Above
Level 3 and above umpires must complete the Open Rules Assessment to maintain their accreditation.
Umpires seeking progression are required to complete the Open Rules Assessment annually.
