About

SLACers Running Club is a social running club for participants of all abilities. We formed in early 2020 in response to the lack of local social Athletics and Cross Country competition for adults. Our members consist of parents (and even grandparents!) of competing Little Athletes at the Seaford Little Athletics Centre, (hence S.L.A.C.-ers) as well as young adults that have aged out of Little Athletics, but do not wish to commit to a full 'senior' athletic season. We also offer an alternative to athletes of all ages that wish to participate in formal athletic running events, such as track events, cross country, race-walking and road running, but in a relaxed, friendly and highly supportive environment.

Our members range from those brand new to running; those running and walking for health and fitness; to those actively competing and chasing personal goals; whether it's their first 5km fun run, or a marathon, or even an Oxfam 100km.

Our unofficial motto 'We go the whole 80%' was coined on a rather hilly overnight training walk and reminds us to strive for our goals, but to enjoy our sport and be kind to ourselves too.
