Welcome to the WA Sharpies 2026/27 Sailing Season!

The 2026/27 WA Sharpie season is shaping up to be a huge one, with a packed racing calendar and, of course, the 83rd Australian Sharpie National Championships right here in Perth!

The WA Sharpies Opening Day Series will mark the start of our season, with racing across our clubs:

• Sunday 27th September 2026 – EFYC
• Saturday 3rd October 2026 – MBSC
• TBC – GBYC

WA Sharpie AGM

Sunday 13th September 2026

Our AGM will kick things off for the new season. We encourage all members to come along, get involved and support the Association as we head into one of our biggest seasons yet.

WA State Selection

28th & 29th November 2026 – Melville Water West

This weekend will form our WA State Selection Series, determining WA team representatives for the 83rd Australian Sharpie National Championships in Perth.

2026/27 WA Sharpie State Championships

10-Race Series across multiple weekends

This season, the WA State Championships will be contested over a 10-race series, spread across several weekends during the season.

Heats 1 & 2
24th & 25th October 2026 – Sail Freo

Two heats of the Sail Freo regatta will kick off the 2026/27 WA Sharpie State Championship Series.

Heats 3–8
28th & 29th November 2026 – Melville Water West

Six races across the weekend, held alongside our WA State Selection Series.

Heats 9 & 10
Saturday 13th March 2027 – Melville Water West

The final two heats of the Championship Series, with State Championship presentations to follow at EFYC.

Valentine’s Cup

Saturday 13th February 2027 – EFYC

Always a favourite on the WA Sharpie calendar and another great opportunity to get the fleet together for some fun, competitive racing.

The Australian Sharpie Nationals return to Perth and the Swan River, bringing together Sharpie sailors from around Australia for what promises to be a fantastic week of racing, social events and Sharpie camaraderie.

We want to see a huge WA fleet on the start line, so get your boat ready, get your crew organised and lock the dates into the calendar.

2026/27 Season Registration

To participate in WA Sharpie Association events, please ensure your 2026/27 season registration is complete.

Registration includes:

• Entry to WA Sharpie Association events
• WA Sharpie Association membership
• National Boat Registration
• Class registration and measurement requirements

All boats and sailors competing in WA Association events must be current financial members.

With the Nationals at home, a new State Championship format and plenty of racing across the season, there has never been a better time to get involved.

Lock in the dates, get the boat out of the shed and get on board for a busy, competitive and super-fun Sharpie season ahead!
