Association History

ASSOCIATION OVERVIEW

SEMSA Inc. (South East Metropolitan Softball Association) was formed in the 1979/80 season by a group of players who decided they did not want to travel north of the river to play. The first season consisted of four teams which played at Ferndale Oval

The original teams that created the Association were: Gosnells Eagles, Kelmscott Bulldogs, Lynwood Aces and Manning.

Since the inception of SEMSA, the numbers have steadily grown in both Senior and Junior competitions. At the largest, the Association ran four time slots using eighteen diamonds over three grounds. There was 81 Senior teams and 25 Junior teams.

After moving to Hossack Reserve in 1980, this became the main base for the Association and has the capability of 10 diamonds.

The following tabs contain information acquired from past and present members of SEMSA Inc.

Further on, I would like to add photos from inaugural and representative teams and players.
