Trials will be conducted to select team(s) to represent South Brisbane Indoor Hockey Association (SBIHA or Vipers) at the Open Men State Championships, to be held in Kedron, Brisbane from Fri 27 Nov - Sun 29 Nov 2026.
Vipers is planning to nominate 2 teams for Open Men (subject to Hockey Queensland acceptance).
Trials will be a combination of training drills and games.
Please arrive 30 minutes before start-time for registration and warm-up.
Who can trial:
Men born 2008 or earlier
Must be registered indoor players with Hockey QLD, with SBIHA as primary association for indoor
Must be a full-time registered player in a 2026 competition at SBIHA
What are the costs:
Nomination costs for trialling will be $40 per player - payable to cover venue hire for trials and some training
The nomination costs are non-refundable
If selected, rep players will be required to own or purchase Vipers green socks. Vipers will provide singlets on loan for the tournament.
A compulsory Tournament Fee is also payable to Hockey QLD (which includes an allowance for HQ appointed umpires and technical officials)
Travel and/or accommodation costs are the responsibility of the player.
Trial - Saturday 7 November (5.00pm-6.30pm)
Team trainings / second trial - Saturday 14 November (5.00pm-7.30pm), Saturday 21 November (5.00pm-7.30pm)
