Newsletter logo
Hi [[FIRST_NAME]],

Welcome to the February edition of the Sandy Bay Sailing Club newsletter! As summer hits its stride, the Derwent has been delivering some memorable sailing conditions, and the club has been buzzing both on and off the water. From lively race days to social events, it’s been great to see so many familiar faces — and a few new ones — getting back into the swing of things.

In this month's newsletter, we'll look ahead to what’s coming up on the calendar, and share a few important updates from around the club. Whether you’ve been out on the river or cheering from the shore, thank you for being part of the Sandy Bay Sailing Club community. We hope this newsletter keeps you connected, informed, and inspired to get out on the water again soon.

COACHES

We love our coaches at SBSC and want to make sure we are always treating them with respect and they get their down time, too - even if it still involves sailing! If you do need to contact coaches outside of the usual coaching times, please send an email through to  admin@sandybaysailingclub.org.au

VOLUNTEER CALL OUT

SBSC is run by volunteers and a big part of being a SBSC Member is pitching in to help run things.

Getting out on the water for Saturday racing is a fantastic way to watch the action. For our weekly racing duties, we use Dutyman, an online volunteer roster system.  Volunteers need to be added to Dutyman by one of our volunteer coordinators Jen or Jory  Head to the website to find out more about the various roles available during racing. There are both on water and off water roles.  No experience is required and we will match you with an experienced volunteer.

We also have opportunities to help out with the behind the scenes work that makes the club tick including:

  • Risk Management and Compliance
  • Regatta/Event Planning
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Grant research & writing

Please email our secretary, Sharon to assist with these tasks.
