Pink Patrol Yoga and Morning Tea
Event information
Every year, Life Saving Victoria and Life Saving Clubs all around the state, join together to celebrate our people and their great achievements. The Pink Patrol is an opportunity to be a part of and celebrate the inclusion and diversity of lifesaving and the achievements of women in lifesaving.
Pink Patrol consists of active female patrolling members and male champions, celebrating the contribution of girls and women to lifesaving through a designated patrol at our club.
The aim of this initiative is to acknowledge and celebrate the many contributions women past and present have played in lifesaving. It is hoped the positive role modelling will inspire and empower future generations of women and girls to confidently pursue opportunities in lifesaving and make the opportunities and pathways in lifesaving more visible.
This year we are kicking off our celebrations with a free Yoga session on the Beach in front of the clubhouse starting at 10am. This will be hosted by Mia our lovely Silver Salties Yoga instructor. Yoga will be followed by a morning tea (starting at 11am) and then the Pink Patrol will follow on for the day (and Nippers starting at 3pm which is always a sea of Pink rashies!). Please bring a yoga mat or towel for yoga.
Everyone is welcome for as much or little time as you would like.
This event will help raise awareness about the various roles and opportunities available to women in lifesaving, helping to empower females to build their operational capability and capacity. The aim is to increase the number of women actively patrolling, as well as see more women represented across all facets of participating and volunteering at our wonderful community life saving club.
Come and join us and wear a little extra pink! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
