Welcome to Sandringham Life Saving Club's Silver Salties program!

The Silver Salties Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) program aligns breath and physical activity to promote mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, with like-minded people in a safe and welcoming environment.

Qigong is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises.  Qigong typically entails gentle movements, including simple strength, flexibility, balance and coordination exercises and breathing and meditation techniques. Led by experienced Qigong instructor Pei Pei all fitness levels and abilities are welcome.

The Silver Salties Qigong program will run every Tuesday morning commencing in 2022 on Tuesday 8th February. The outdoor sessions will be held on the grass terraced area adjacent to Beach Road (opposite The Cresent, just to the North of the clubhouse - beyond the statue

Each class is $15, Pension card holders are $10. Payment for classes can be made online or alternatively cash on the day. Participants are welcome to attend as often as they can (there are lots of different sessions planned, some will be free and others with be a small fee)! Please note payment is not based on weeks, it's based on classes attended. So, if you miss a session you can carry it over to the next series or try a different class.

All attendees must pre-register to ensure they are covered by our insurance. A prerequisite to register is that all attendees must be fully vaccinated. It is a Life Saving Victoria (LSV) requirement for all members or club attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be able to attend a club facility, deliver a club service in person, or participate in a club activity in person.

All COVID-19 precautions must also be in place i.e. QR Code to check-in, mask wearing where required inline with Governmant guidelines, stay at home if unwell, social distancing, good hand hygiene, coughing/sneezing etiquette etc.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle and be sun-safe.
