Running

Overview

As a community running group, Running in the Burbs structures our running training programme and social events around a number of key events during the year.  In order to prepare members for these events, the training programmes are targetted to building up to the specific races on the calendar.  These races generally have marathon and half-marathon distances and training programmes and runs are specifically designed to support runners attempting those distances at a variety of paces and target finishing times.

Training runs

RITB holds three main training runs each week.. these are:

  • Saturday long runs with varying distances and pace groups
  • Monday recovery run
  • Wednesday speed and strength session

Running programmes

RITB produces runnings programmes to help our members build up for the major events RITB targets - including Melbourne marathon, Two Bays, Great Ocean Road and other events.  Access to programmes for paid members is at Running Programmes.
