Welcome back to Green Fleet Opti training, and a warm welcome to our new members! We're excited to kick off another term of sailing with you all.

Term Dates:

Sundays from 19th July - 13th September, 2026  (excl. 30 August)

Session Times:

Sunday Mornings 0830 - 1130hrs 

Please ensure your sailor is rigged and ready by the start time. Coaches will be available before the sessions for any questions.

Costs:

Green Fleet Optimists: $265 for the term training (Boat Hire NOT Included).

** If you need to hire a boat, please contact the Sailing Academy to check availability before registering.

Please Note:

• In case weather conditions aren't suitable for on-water activities, we'll conduct theory sessions.
• To participate in this training, you need to be a Junior Member of RQYS.  BECOME A MEMBER HERE

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

By registering for this program, you acknowledge and accept that sailing is a dangerous sport that carries inherent risks, including the potential for serious injury. One specific risk during this course is head injuries caused by contact with the boom or other equipment, which can occur regardless of a sailor's level of experience or skill.

The safety of each sailor is ultimately their own and their parent's responsibility. This includes taking appropriate precautions to minimize risks, such as wearing a helmet to reduce the likelihood of serious injury.

Green Fleet is an introduction to coaching and learning to train.

Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.
