Event information

Registrations for this event are closed.

The Olympic marathon has a long tradition and one of those has been to run in and finish in the main event stadium. This is your opportunity to experience what it is like to run into a major stadium and run on the athletics track the venue of many great Australian and International Performances.

Who can forget the finish of the marathon at the Commonwealth games when Kerryn McCann finished in the MCG. While we can’t promise you a crowd of spectators, we think you can imagine what it might be like by doing exactly that in this community event. You may choose to run in lane 4, the lane Raelene Boyle ran in at this very venue when she won Gold in the 400m at the Commonwealth Games here in Brisbane.

The Event.

A Parlouf Relay is proposed. Participants will be paired up. You don’t get to choose who you run with but you may be paired with a running great. Pairs then take it in turns to run 1 mile (the road around the main stadium, into the main stadium and a lap of the track). You take turns with you partner to run 1 mile and you keep taking it turns running 1 mile laps seeing how many you can complete between you in 45 minutes.

Register now to be part of the fun. Bring along your friends to join in the fun, you don’t need to be fast you just need to be move. Fast and not so fast runners will be paired with the aim of making the field as even as possible.

Entry fee $10.

Tokyo Olympic Marathons: 7th August (Womens), 8th August (Mens) both start 7am (Sapporo) or 8am (Brisbane, Australia)
