Membership — Annual Renewal and New Members 2026/27

Please read below for instructions on how to:

renew your membership
register for a SailPass
Apply to join as a new member

Renewing members

If you are a current or past member you need to register each year to keep your PLYC membership active. Annual Membership fees become due after the AGM (usually held in August) and must be paid within 3 weeks of the start of the sailing season.

The membership categories and fees are listed below:

Membership category	Description	Fee
Sailing memberships	Includes Australian Sailing fees.
Life Member	No membership fee, Australian Sailing fee only. Includes voting rights.	$100
Adult	For adults who want to sail at the club. Includes voting rights	$255
Youth (U18)	For youth sailing members under 18 as at 1 July 2026. No voting rights.	$140
Pension/Student Concession	For sailing members over 18 with an eligible pension or student concession. Includes voting rights.	$195
Learn to Sail	Saturday morning sailing program. Two sessions per year available. Registration Fee is split into two sessions. $70 pre-Xmas & $70 post-Xmas	$140
Family	For up to two adult members and any number of youth members under 18, living at the same address who want to sail at the club. Adult members have voting rights. Family membership $290 (1 Adult sailor with a Family) Additional family combinations explained below (Note: AS Fee for Adults $100 & Youth $50) Example: 1 Adult Sailor & 1 Youth Sailor = $340 1 Adult Sailor & 2 Youth Sailors = $390 2 Adult Sailors & 1 Youth = $440 All family combinations capped at $440	Capped at $440
Non-sailing memberships	For members who want to be involved without sailing.
Social/Community member	For social or community members. No sailing or voting rights.	$70
Adult (non-sailing)	For members over 18 who do not wish to sail but have voting rights.	$155
Casual membership options	For people who only sail occasionally.
Senior SailPass	For adults who want to sail occasionally. No voting rights. Use up to 5 times. After 5 uses, your Australian Sailing levy is paid, and you can continue sailing by paying the remaining Senior membership balance of $155.	$20
Youth SailPass	For persons under 18 as at 1/7/26 who want to sail occasionally. Use up to 5 times. After 5 uses, your Australian Sailing levy is paid, and you can continue sailing by paying the remaining Youth membership balance of $90.	$10
Never sailed before
3 for Free	If you have never sailed before, you can try sailing for free up to three times. You must register each time you sail. After that, you need to join as a casual or full member to keep sailing.	No cost

Find your Australian Sailing number

You will need your Australian Sailing Number to renew memberships. If you do not know it, click the 'Find my AS Number' link here, enter your first and last name, then select Search. Your number will appear under your name further down the screen.

How to Renew my club membership

At the bottom of this page select 'RETURNING MEMBER' to renew your annual membership

Step 1/7: Get started

Enter your AS Number, followed by your name, date of birth, gender identity

Step 2/7: Select Membership type

Click 'FULL MEMBERSHIP' to renew your membership for the sailing season.

You will now be taken to the next stage of selecting the Membership Categories that are available to you.

Select the Membership Category that is relevant to you.

Step 3/7: Review

Double check that you have selected the correct Membership Category.

Step 4/7: Personal Details

Review your details and update any missing information.
