Pickleball Australia (PA) is on the hunt for Coach Educators to deliver the PA Coaching Courses face-to-face component, facilitating a 6-hour practical session that develops participants' coaching delivery skills. This role is critical to maintaining high-quality coaching standards across Australia and growing the PA coaching community.
Role Responsibilities
Course Delivery:
Facilitate the 6-hour face-to-face Foundation Coaching Course following PA's standardised curriculum and facilitation guide
Deliver engaging, practical, hands-on learning experiences aligned with the 70% practical / 30% theory approach
Assess participants' coaching competency during the practical coaching segment using PA's assessment rubric
Model effective coaching practice in all interactions with participants
Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that reflects PA values
Administrative Duties:
Complete and submit participant assessment and attendance paperwork immediately following course delivery
Provide post-course feedback report to PA Coaching Team
Maintain confidentiality of participant information
Respond to PA communications regarding course assignments in a timely manner
Professional Standards:
Represent Pickleball Australia professionally at all times
Maintain current coaching accreditation and required certifications
Acknowledgement of all PA policies and signing where necessary of understanding
Participate in any professional development or training provided by PA
Facilitate a minimum of one course per year to retain Coach Educator status
Complete any additional requirements deemed necessary by PA
Qualifications and Experience
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Memberships:
Current Pickleball Australia Level 1 Foundation Coach accreditation (minimum)
Current PA Coach Membership in good standing
Completed Facilitator Essential Skills course through Australian Sports Commission
Valid Working with Children Check
Valid National Police Check
Current First Aid certification
Valid ABN
Experience & Skills:
Prior teaching, training, or facilitation experience (highly desirable)
Strong communication and group management skills
Demonstrated understanding of participant-centered coaching approaches
Ability to deliver constructive feedback and assess coaching competency
Confident on-court demonstration and instruction abilities
Employment Structure
Engagement:
Independent contractor basis (not employee)
Coach Educators are responsible for their own tax, superannuation, insurance (where applicable), and invoicing obligations.
Course assignments managed by PA - educators express interest in upcoming courses and are assigned accordingly
All course administration (participant registration, venue booking, equipment, marketing, pre-course communications) managed by Pickleball Australia
Remuneration:
Course fee: $400 per full-day (6 hour course) course delivered
Travel allowance: $0.88 per km (ATO rate) for travel over 100km (each way) from residence
Accommodation: Provided and booked by PA when required for regional/interstate delivery
Airfares: Provided when necessary for interstate delivery
Meal allowance: $75 per day for regional/interstate travel
Payment: Payment is processed upon receipt of completed course paperwork and a valid tax invoice.

Adherence to professional standards
Completion of minimum one course per year requirement
