Club President, Roslyn Soanes, and Secretary, Mia Buswell, along with the nominees, attended the Water Polo WA  Awards night at Raffles Hotel on Wednesday 1/4/2026. It was a great evening celebrating our sport and brought together members of Clubs from across the State.

Phantoms Water Polo Club had 4 nominations in the 2026 Water Polo WA  Awards.

Young Acheiver of the Year - FINALIST - Chloe Walker

Chloe Walker is a 15-year-old athlete who coaches Flippa Ball on Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings, plus plays in both the B-grade u18 competition and in u16 A-grade for the Triton/Dolphins/Phantoms combined development team. She has been a member of Phantoms for 3 seasons, starting with Flippa ball prior to the closure of the Beatty Park and Inglewood pools. Chloe has been playing WAJL with Phantoms for the last 2 seasons.

Coach of the Year - Warren Kyte

Warren Kyte has been a State League player for Phantoms WPC for over 16 years.When his children started playing Flippaball at Phantoms WPC he was actively involved with their sessions.When his daughter’s coach moved interstate mid-way through her first eligible season in the 14&Under B Division competition, Warren stepped into the coaching role.That was in the 2020/21 season and Warren has continued coaching this core team of girls through to their final season as juniors in this 2025/26 season.

Team of the Year - Phantoms u18B Girls Pirates

The Phantoms Pirates Girls Junior Team have been competing in the B Grade competition since the 2020/21 season (originally named the Devils until there were multiple Phantoms teams in one division). Over that time they have won 4 consecutive premierships and this season is their final season as eligible Juniors. Most have commenced competing for Phantoms WPC in the Seniors competition this season and the remainder intend to join them next summer.
