State Junior League is the Water Polo WA run domestic competition in which metropolitan clubs compete. There are three age groups and divisions within each age group.
The 2022 / 2023 season age groups are as follows:
· 14 & Under (born 2009, 2010 & 2011)
· 16 & Under (born 2007 & 2008)
· 18 & Under (born 2005 & 2006)
Training sessions for those involved in State Junior League teams are Thursday afternoons and on Saturday mornings for the 14 & Under and 16 & Under age groups. 18 & Under training is run Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons. Games are played at HBF Stadium, Mt Claremont and Hale School pool, depending on the age group and division.
Registration for a Phantoms WPC 14&U, 16&U and 18&U team is under the WA Water Polo SunSmart State Junior League competition and includes the following within the fees:
- WA Water Polo (Association) Player Registration and Insurance
- Phantoms Water Polo Club Registration
- Season 2022 / 2023 Training Program
- Position in a 2022 / 2023 Phantom’s State Junior League team playing on Sunday afternoon or Monday night, depending on the age group and division.
State Junior League commences on Sunday October 16th, 2022 and runs until late March with a break for school holidays. Training starts Thursday 8th September 2022.

Bring a Friend
We are asking all of our Juniors (born 2005-2011) to bring (at least) one friend to training
All Rookies Welcome
Take the plunge and learn the sport of water polo from scratch. You won’t be alone, everyone is bringing a friend who has never played before.
Absolutely no experience required. All that is needed is the desire to have fun in the water and the basic ability to swim (which of course can be worked on).
If you don’t have a friend at Phantoms, come anyway, you’ll have plenty of Phantoms friends by the time you leave training!
