Orara Valley Hockey Club originated in the beautiful Orara Valley over 50 years ago under the guidance of Kim Gould a local hockey enthusiast. Training was once on the famous "Axeman's Footy Field" dodging the cow pats and sprig marks. Thankfully these days, all training and games are at the one location at Coffs Harbour Hockey Complex.
We have a history of building longlasting friendships, encouragement of good sportsmanship, participation and a lifelong love of the game. We are one big hockey family.
Our Club offers hockey for all ages and welcomes players of all skill level and we encourage beginners of any age to join and give hockey ago.
In 2019, our Women's teams completed an amazing achievement of being crowned premiers in all three Women's divisions.
In 2020, our Women's Division 2 and Division 3 teams were both runners up.
In 2024, we will have players in Hook In 2 Hockey (4yrs-9yrs) and teams in 12s, 14s and 16s in the Junior Competition. In Senior, we will have teams in Women's Div2 & Div 3 and Men's Competition.
Hook into Hockey - 10 and Under, Juniors U12's, U14's and U16's
- Minimum age is five
- Season starts at the of end of March and ends in Septemeber (typically no games during school holidays)
- Games are played at the Coffs Harbour Hockey Complex
- Training is on Thursday afternoons at the Coffs Harbour Hockey Complex, 5.30pm-6.15pm
- Games are played on Saturday morning at the Coffs Harbour Hockey Complex
- Juniors Competitions are mixed
Seniors - Womens and Mens
- Season runs from March to September
- Matches are played at the Coffs Harbour Hockey Complex
- Matches played on Friday nights, Saturday, and Sunday Afternoons
- Training is on Thursday afternoons at the Coffs Harbour Hockey Complex, 6.15pm-7.00pm
- We offer teams in Womens Div 2 and Div 3, Mens Div 2
- There is also the opportunity for players to play in a Div 1 Coffs based team, Coffs Crusaders (Women), Jetty Jets (Mens) traveling to Grafton each week but still play with your home Club!
