Volunteering
We all lead such busy lives; there never seems to be enough time! During the sailing season, there will be occasions where we will ask for assistance with Working Bees, racing and fundraising. The results of these activities are for the benefit of all our Minnow sailors. It is also a great way of getting to know other families, and any assistance is much appreciated. All volunteers are required to hold a current Ochre Card. If you dont have one get in touche and we can point you in the rigt direction and reduce the fee as a volunteer. On-water
The DSC is always looking for race day volunteers. There are great benefits and its a good way to imerse yourself in the club atmosphere. If your child is new to club racing there is no better way to build their confidence than for them to see you out on the water too. The Minnow Association owns their own rescue boat. It is a DSC requirement that the Minnow Association provide on-water support for their sailors as part of club racing so all help is welcome.
Off-water
Not all positions are on the water... as well as shore support so there is someone to help when boats have to come in early we also often need help with BBQ cooks & raffle sellers for fundraising days, gardeners & of course committee members. The Minnow Association boats also need maintenance from time to time and this is done by the parents. Having these boats enables new sailors an easy entry point so its important we keep them going.
