Norths Squash Club members can be considered for nomination for Life Membership when they have provided exemplary service to the squash club over an extended period.
To assist in defining what this means, there are some recommendations included in our Squash Club constitution. These criteria are not designed to be prescriptive. A nominee that meets the criteria is not guaranteed to be affirmed by the required majority, nor is a nominee that does not meet the criteria prevented from being affirmed. The criteria are designed to provide some guidelines in assisting members when voting at a General Meeting many of whom may not be familiar with the contributions of a particular nominee.
Our Club Constitution recommends that the nominated member has demonstrated:
1) 15 years minimum Norths Squash Club membership (does not have to be consecutively)
2) 5 years of either committee service OR representing Australia in squash
3) Exemplary service to the squash club
Life Membership nominations must be received by the Squash Committee at least 4 weeks before the annual AGM and will be voted on at the next AGM. Life membership will be granted if an affirmative vote from at least 75% of members present at the AGM is obtained.
