About

The New Wave Waterpolo Club was launched in July 2022 in South Perth by a passionate group of parents and individuals with the desire for all children to have the opportunity to play Water Polo in a supportive club environment. The parents all have children training at the established Water Polo Talent Academy (WPTA) and identified the need to create a club to enable children in the local area to be able to compete together.

The Club entered 3 teams and 2 composite teams in the Junior State League (the Water Polo WA competition for metropolitan clubs in Perth) during the 2022/23 season across three age groups. Two teams reached the 'B' grand finals while our 12&U boys' team reached their final which was amazing given it was the first season playing competitive water polo for many. New Wave also participated successsfully in the Australian Youth Championships in Perth in January with our 14&U Green team who again reached the final. In addition, New Wave delivered a learn and play Flippa Ball program on Sunday mornings and trialled Friday night Flippa Ball game sessions in March which our boys and girls loved. All in all, a very successful first year. Many thanks to all players, familes, coaches and volunteers.

The Club will have open training sessions at the Wesley Pool on Sunday mornings on in September for boys and girls interested in Flippa Ball or being part of New Wave JML teams (was Junior State League) in 2023/24. Confident swimmers from Y2 to 18years are all welcome. Additional open training sessions are taking place on Saturday afternoons in Sept with the next session being Saturday 9th September at St. Hilda's School Pool, Mosman Park. Club registrations for Junior Metro teams will open in early September. Any Seniors wishing to play social water polo, please contact coach Raul Ricci directly on 0432 298054.

If you have any queries, please email the Club.
