REGISTER HERE: Summer Hockey Season – Newtown City Hockey Club Inc.

The 2026/2027 summer hockey season for junior and senior teams will begin on October 27, 2026.

The competitions are half-field with 7 players per team. No training is conducted over the summer season, but coaching is available through the team coaches.

All summer competition teams are mixed and all games are played at Geelong Hockey Complex, John St, Corio.

Summer Competition Teams for 2026/ 2027:

Ages for junior summer hockey teams are taken at January 1 2026. 

Tuesday

• Under 8 – 5.30 pm. Age 5 to 7 or beginner aged 8.
• Under 10 – 5.30 pm. Age 8, 9 or beginner aged 10.
• Under 12 – 6.30 pm. Age 10, 11 or beginner aged 12
• Under 14 – 7.30 pm. Age 12, 13 or beginner aged 14

Wednesday

• Senior Mixed – 5.30 pm, 6.30 pm, 7.30. Players must be aged at least 14 as at July 1, 2026.

Thursday

• Under 17 – 5.30 pm. Age 14, 15, 16 or beginner aged 17
• Masters Mixed – 6.30 pm or 7.30 pm. Players must be aged at least 35 as at July 1, 2026.

Friday

• Friday Family – 6.30 pm. Teams consist of adults (male and female),  beginners (adults and children) and junior players aged 10 to 15 at July 1, 2026. Junior players aged 16 are counted as adults in this competition.

Costs

Hockey Victoria Fee

Before playing, all players must have paid a Hockey Victoria fee for the 2026 year, either as:

• Hockey Victoria (HV) Membership paid during the 2026 winter season OR

• Hockey Victoria Summer Fee – junior players (<18) $69.50, senior players $83.50.

These Hockey Victoria payments will provide Personal Accident Insurance until 31/1/2027

Newtown Hockey Club team fees for summer competitions

In addition to the Hockey Victoria fees, the Club charges a fee for members to play in a team. Payment of the Hockey Victoria fee and the NCHC team fee are made together through the registration link below. There are no further fees to be paid.

Fees for 2026 summer teams are:

• U8 – $30
• U10 –  $55
• U12/U14/U17 – $65
• Senior Mixed – $80
• Masters Mixed – $80
• Friday Family – $80

Players who wish to play in two separate teams/ competitions will be required to pay the appropriate club fee for each team.

Uniform Purchases

Uniform requirements for summer hockey are not strict, so a shirt in the appropriate colour will do even if it is not the official club uniform. Uniform information can be found here.
