The New England Sailing Club (NESC) is an incorporated association and is affiliated with Australian Sailing.
NESC aims:
(a) To promote the sport of sailing in the New England region.
(b) To promote, manage, conduct and control races for sailing boats.
(c) To promote and organise picnic sailing events and social functions.
(d) To promote and encourage the training of juniors in the arts of sailing,
(e) To establish and conduct sailing instruction classes, and
(f) To assist and coach Members of the Club to enhance their sailing skills,
(g) To conduct a junior sailing and racing program, and
(h) To promote and support the long-term prosperity of the Club.
NESC has a range of memberships including:
(a) Senior Member: Person aged 18 years or over who has been nominated and admitted to Membership in accordance with the Constitution of the Club and shall be eligible to vote.
(b) Junior Member: Person of not more than 18 years of age. Shall not be eligible to vote.
(c) Family Membership: Shall consist of a person eligible for Senior Membership, together with spouse and up to two dependent children who take part in at least one Club sailing event in the term of the Membership. Each such Member of the family shall enjoy all rights, privileges and obligations of the Membership category appropriate to his/her age, except that only two Members shall be eligible to vote.
(d) Honorary Member: Person associated with the Club and its activities who is considered by a General Meeting of the Club to be worthy of special recognition by election to Honorary Membership. Honorary Members are not required to pay Membership fees. Honorary Membership is renewable annually at the Annual General Meeting.
(e) Life Member: Persons who have made an outstanding contribution to the activities of the Club who may be elected to such Membership as a special mark of distinction. Life Members are not required to pay any Membership fees but have the same voting rights and privileges as Members. Notwithstanding the provision of Clause 4 of this Constitution, Life Membership can only be granted by a General Meeting of the Club.
(f) Affiliate Member: May be granted by the Club from time to time and for such periods as the Club sees fit.
