Tackers Green Fleet - Summer 2026

Now it’s time to learn to sail around a course and become more independent!

Our Green Fleet is open to young sailors who have completed Tackers 3 and are keen to try their hand at sailing around a course and learning more about racing.  You’ll have a coach on water with you for assistance & guidance, but you’re now becoming a more proficient sailor & making decisions yourself!

Our Green Fleet sail on Sunday mornings during Spring & Summer.  The first race starts at 10:00am so, to give yourself time to be rigged and ready (this is now your responsibility), we suggest you arrive around 9:00am.  We are able to sail up to five short races each week (around 15 – 20minutes each) however the number we sail will depend upon the wind & weather.

Member Discounts

Current financial NCYC members are offered a discount on training courses for their children or grandchildren - 10% for General Members and 5% for Crew Members.

NSW Active Kids Vouchers are accepted.

The NCYC Sailing Academy is proud to be an Active Kids Provider.

If you have an Active Kids voucher you wish to redeem, you must submit the voucher number during registration. 

Please be aware that you may only use the discount code active50 if a voucher number has been submitted.

 Venue for Green Fleet

All of our club dinghy racing is run from the NCYC Sailing Centre across the river at Carrington (over the Cowper Street bridge).  Children should be dropped off and picked up from this venue.  There is ample parking in front of the Carrington Police Station and an easy walk up the lane to the Sailing Centre’s entrance gates.
