Youth Development Regatta 2025

An invitation is extended to all youth sailors who have been part of the Sailing Academy, part of other Club's youth development programs or local dinghy sailors who are keen to make the transition into inshore keelboat sailing.

This event, designed to develop youth keelboat sailing in the Hunter Region, is an annual regatta to provide sailors with an enjoyable “around the buoys” inshore racing event where fun & learning is the primary focus.

Individual sailors can register for the regatta.  We will allocate you into a crew of up to three other participants and a skilled Mentor Skipper/Coach - forming a total crew of 5 sailors. Participants may nominate who they would like to sail with or even form teams of four sailors themselves. 

A youth participant is defined as an individual who has attained their 11^th birthday but not yet attained their 19^th birthday on the first day of the event.  

The Entry Fee is $120.00 per person and includes:

• Morning training session
• An afternoon of racing
• A full day of coaching - shorebased & on-water
• Use of the Force 24 keelboats
• On-water snacks
• Lunch & drinks in the clubhouse
• A fun presentation in the afternoon
• Great prizes

We will run a Training Morning so you can get together with your crew, meet one another and have a bit of practise time on water. Then after a quick bite to eat for lunch we'll be back on the water for the Regatta of up to 4 races!
