Skill Development - Force 24 Coaching Program

We are pleased to welcome participants to our NEW Force 24 Coaching Program for SUMMER 2024. 

The program is designed to extend sailing skills developed during learn-to-sail courses and empower participants to confidently sail a Force 24 without an instructor onboard.

This program will include five coaching sessions on Tuesday afternoons, conducted over the dates as listed above.   

Session times each week are 5:30pm to 7:30pm.  

* Please be aware that due to daylight savings ending on 7th April, our last session on 9th April will be a shorebased session.  We will have a coaching discussion based around understanding sailing tactics, using the racing rules of sailing and the influence of weather on the race course.

Training will be conducted on the Force 24 keelboats with crews of up to five.  Individual registrations will be formed into crews.  Participants may nominate if they wish to be in a crew with other participant(s) and pre-organised crews may also nominate.  Coaches will support crews from RIB support boats.

Participant numbers - maximum 15 (3 boats).   To avoid disappointment, we recommend registering early.  

The registration fee for this course is $135 per person.

Course Pre Requisite

Participants must have completed a Start Crewing and Start Helming course, or have attended at least four (4) Women's Sailing 4-week courses, or have been a member of the Youth Development Squad (minimum age guide 16 years) in order to have the skills and knowledge at a level that allows progression to sailing independently.

Course Attendance

This is a five-week program where crew mates will be depending on you. If you miss a session we don't have a comparable session to offer a catch up.  Please see our Academy FAQs for full details of Terms & Conditions.
